Buy or Adopt?Adopting a dog from someone or a local shelter can be a wonderful experience. I have seen adoptions that turned out to be the perfect match. These outcomes are the majority. However, it's important to know what to look for in a puppy or an adult dog before you bring the dog home. Matching owners with a new dog is an art. Personality traits of both human and dog need to compliment each other. For example, if you are an outdoors type and would like a dog who will go hiking, certain dogs would not meet that desire. Many dogs are better at being couch potatoes. Another example would be, if you will have difficulty enforcing rules and don't want to consistently remind your dog who's boss than some other types of breeds.Choosing the right dog is an important decision and needs to be done with great care. Remember that this family member will live with you for 10 to 15 years. About Us
